NCAA Game Summary - Iowa State At Baylor

(Sports Network) - Freshman quarterback Robert Griffin completed 21- of-24 passing attempts for 278 yards and two scores, while rushing for another touchdown, to lead the Baylor Bears to a 38-10 win over the Iowa State Cyclones in a Big 12 Conference showdown at Floyd Casey Stadium.

Kendall Wright was Griffin's favorite target, hauling in seven passes for 132 yards and two scores. Jay Finley led the rushing attack for the Bears (3-3, 1-1 Big 12), carrying the ball 15 times for 60 yards and a touchdown.

ISU (2-4, 0-2) was led by signal-caller Austen Arnaud, who converted 21-of-41 pass attempts for 176 yards and a touchdown.

Griffin put Baylor on the board late in the first quarter when he hooked up with Wright for a 34-yard touchdown strike.

The Bears extended their lead to 14-0 in the opening minute of the second quarter, as Finley busted through the defense for a 12-yard score.

The Cyclones finally got on the scoreboard midway through the second quarter when Grant Mahoney drilled a 34-yard field goal.

Baylor answered the call in the closing minutes of the first half when Griffin ran it in from four yards out to make it a 21-3 game at the break.

The Bears set the tone for the second half, as Mikali Baker returned the opening kickoff 93 yards to paydirt.

Baylor extended its lead to 31-3 late in the third frame with a 36-yard field goal by Ben Parks.

Griffin continued to shine late in the game, hooking up with Wright for their second touchdown connection of the game, this one coming from 51 yards out.

The Cyclones added a late touchdown on a nine-yard strike from Arnaud to Cedrick Johnson, but it was not enough as Baylor took the 38-10 victory.

With the win, Baylor broke its 13-game Big 12 Conference losing streak.
