NCAA Game Summary - James Madison At Youngstown State

Youngstown, OH -- (Sports Network) - Marcus Mason scored on a one-yard touchdown run with 1:12 remaining in the game as Youngstown State rallied from an 11- point fourth-quarter deficit for a 35-31 victory over James Madison in first- round action of the NCAA Division I Football Championship. Mason notched 72 yards and two touchdowns on the ground and quarterback Tom Zetts threw for 304 yards and a score for the No. 4 seed Penguins (10-2), who will host Gateway Conference rival Illinois State in the quarterfinals. Youngstown State defeated Illinois State, 27-13, on October 28. The Penguins took a 20-17 halftime lead after a back-and-forth first half, but James Madison scored the next two touchdowns and grabbed a 31-20 advantage on a 27-yard touchdown run by quarterback Justin Rascati with 14:52 to play in the game. Youngstown State cut the deficit to 31-28 with a six-yard touchdown reception and two-point conversion by T.J. Peterson with 8:06 to play. Peterson notched 11 receptions for 144 yards and a touchdown. Youngstown State's game-winning drive was set up when it held James Madison on a fourth-and-1 from the Penguin 12 with 4:41 to play. The Penguins, who are in the postseason for the first time since 2000, earned their 13th consecutive home playoff win. Rascati led the James Madison (9-3) offense by completing 14-of-24 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown and running for 93 yards and two scores. James Madison was playing its first postseason game since winning the 2004 national championship.
