Jacksonville, FL -- (Sports Network) - Former Louisiana State University quarterback Ryan Perrilloux announced on Wednesday he will transfer to Jacksonville State, according to The Birmingham News.LSU head coach Les Miles dismissed the oft-troubled quarterback from the football team on May 2 for numerous violations of team rules. "Basically, I just see this as a second opportunity to be successful," Perrilloux told The Birmingham News. The 6-foot-2, 222-pound Perrilloux played a big role in helping LSU to the national championship last season. He started the SEC title game in place of Matt Flynn and helped the Tigers to a 21-14 victory over Tennessee, throwing for 243 yards with a touchdown and an interception on 20-of-30 passing. Last season, the multi-dimensional signal caller completed 51-of-75 passes for 694 yards with eight touchdowns and two interceptions. The Louisiana-native has two years of eligibility remaining and will likely take over the starting quarterback position for the Gamecocks.
