Two Mississippi State Football Players Dismissed, Arrested

Friday, March 28, 2008

(Sports Network) - Mississippi State offensive lineman Michael Brown and defensive lineman Quinton Wesley have been dismissed from the football team, the school announced Friday.

They have also been dismissed from the university pending a campus hearing.

Additionally, the two players were also arrested following an incident on campus Thursday night that involved two handguns. Nobody was injured, according to the school's release, and the weapons were recovered by university police officers.

Brown, a junior, was charged with possession of a firearm, while Wesley, a sophomore, was charged with aggravated assault, both of which are felony charges.

Brown was the team's starting left tackle for the 2007 season, while Wesley played in 12 games, including one start, and recorded 19 tackles.
