Atlanta, GA -- (Sports Network) - Greg Smith had six catches for 155 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets to a 27-25 victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels in an ACC matchup at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Tashard Choice ran for 142 yards on 32 carries in the Yellow Jackets' (7-4, 4-4 ACC) victory, and he also threw a 17-yard touchdown pass. Taylor Bennett threw for 196 yards and a score on 13-of-24 tosses, as Georgia Tech clinched a non- losing ACC record for the 13th straight season T.J. Yates completed 21-of-35 pass attempts for 283 yards and a touchdown to lead UNC (3-8, 2-5), and Hakeem Nicks grabbed seven passes for 162 yards and a score. A 42-yard field goal midway through the first quarter from Connor Barth gave the Tar Heels the lead. The Yellow Jackets responded late in the frame with a 17-yard touchdown toss from Choice to Bennett. Travis Bell gave Georgia Tech a 10-3 lead late in the second quarter with a 33-yard kick. UNC responded just over three minutes later with a 21-yard field goal from Barth. Barth hit another field goal early in the third quarter, this time from 39 yards out, and the Tar Heels trailed, 10-9. Bennett hit Smith for a 40-yard scoring strike midway through the period, extending the Georgia Tech advantage to 17-9. The Tar Heels finally found the end zone early in the fourth quarter, as Yates completed a 14-yard pass to Nicks. A two-point conversion attempt failed, and the Yellow Jackets held on to a 17-15 lead. A 47-yard touchdown strike from Josh Nesbit to Smith extended the Yellow Jackets' advantage to 24-15. Barth connected on a 32-yard field goal try midway through the fourth quarter to keep the Tar Heels within striking distance. UNC took a 25-24 lead with a one-yard plunge by Anthony Elzy with just under six minutes to play. Georgia Tech, however, won the game with 16 seconds left, as Bell nailed a 27- yard field goal for the 27-25 triumph.
