NCAA Game Summary - Richmond At Hampton

David Freeman rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns and 12th-ranked Richmond used a dominating second half to roll to a 38-10 victory over No. 2 Hampton in an NCAA I-AA first-round game at Armstrong Stadium.

Tim Hightower also scored twice and added 73 yards on the ground for the Spiders (9-3), who will host third-ranked Furman in the quarterfinals next Saturday. Richmond finished with 251 rushing yards.

The teams were tied 10-10 at the half before Richmond put up 28 unanswered points, all on short touchdown runs by both Freeman and Hightower, to pull away.

Antwan Smith threw for 221 yards and a touchdown with one interception for the previously unbeaten Pirates (11-1). Onrea Jones finished with 11 receptions for 192 yards in the loss.
