NCAA Game Summary - Georgia Southern At Texas State

San Marcos, TX -- Barrick Nealy threw for four touchdowns, all in the second half and three going to Dameon Williams, as fourth-ranked Texas State scored the final 34 points, on the way to a 50-35 win over No. 6 Georgia Southern in the first round of the NCAA Division I-AA playoffs. Nealy also rushed for 126 yards and a score for the Bobcats (10-2), who will play Cal Poly in the quarterfinals. He connected on 23-of-32 passes for 400 yards and was picked off once. Markee White had 10 receptions for 157 yards for Texas State. Georgia Southern (8-4), the national champions in 1999 and 2000, got 151 yards rushing and two touchdowns from Jayson Foster. He also completed 3-of-5 passes for 135 yards with two TDs and an interception. Foster scored on runs of 29 and 36 yards in the third quarter, his last one coming with 4:20 remaining in the period to give the Eagles a 35-16 lead. However, Nealy then hit Chase Wasson with a five-yard TD pass with 1:13 remaining in the third. The Bobcats got within 35-30 on Nealy's 26-yard TD pass to Dameon Williams with 10:29 remaining, and Texas State went in front 38-35 on Nealy's 11-yard TD pass to Williams with 6:17 to go. White caught the two-point conversion pass from Nealy. Foster was sacked on fourth down inside Georgia Southern territory with just over four minutes left, and the Bobcats padded their lead on Daniel Jolly's one-yard TD run with 3:33 remaining. Georgia Southern turned the ball over on downs at its own five, and Douglas Sherman capped the scoring with a nine-yard TD run.
