NCAA Game Summary - Middle Tennessee State At UL-Lafayette

UL-Lafayette quarterback Jerry Babb threw for 183 yards and two scores on 16-of-26 passing, and rushed for 68-yards on 10 carries to lead the Ragin' Cajuns past the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders, 24-17, in Sun Belt Conference play from Cajun Field.

MTSU (1-2,0-1 Sun Belt) was paced by Clint Marks who threw for 242 yards and a touchdown, along with one interception in a losing effort.

The Cajuns (2-2,1-0) scored first when Dwight Lindon found the end zone from five yards out early in the first quarter.

The Blue Raiders tied the game with 5:59 remaining in the quarter when Marks connected with Pierre Ingram for a 15-yard touchdown pass.

Eugene Gross pounded it in from one yard out with 2:42 remaining in the second to give the Blue Raiders a 14-7 lead, but the Ragin' Cajuns tied the game with 25 seconds left in the half when B.J. Crist caught a 10-yard pass from Babb for the touchdown, making the score 14-14 at the half.

Babb found Xavier Campbell midway through the third quarter for a seven-yard touchdown pass making the score 21-14 in favor of ULLA.

The Cajuns extended their lead in the opening moments of the fourth quarter when Sean Comiskey kicked a 38-yard field goal to make the score 24-14.

Colby Smith booted a 37-yard field goal with 10:55 remaining in the game to bring the Blue Raiders within a touchdown, but ULLA's defense held tough and was able to keep Middle Tennessee off the board the rest of the way, securing the victory 24-17.

The Ragin' Cajuns compiled 192 yards on the ground, and held the Blue Raiders to just 94 yards rushing in the win.
