NCAA Game Summary - UL-Lafayette At Florida International

Jerry Babb completed 30-of-42 pass attempts for 302 yards and two touchdowns to lead the UL-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns to a 43-34 victory over the FIU Golden Panthers in a non-conference match up.

Dwight London rushed for 66 yards and two scores in the victory for UL- Lafayette (3-2), while B.J. Crist pulled down 11 passes for 99 yards.

Josh Padrick completed 22-of-35 pass attempts for 265 yards and two scores, while Rashod Smith ran for 94 yards and one touchdown in the loss for FIU (1-1).

A 36-yard interception return by Travis Moss put the Cajuns up 7-0 early in the opening frame.

Adam Moss split the uprights on a 44-yard field goal to bring the score to 7-3 late in the first quarter.

The Ragin Cajuns went up 14-3 early in the second stanza when London crossed the goal line on a two-yard run. A 47-yard field goal by Sean Comiskey put UL- Lafayette up 14 points midway through the second quarter.

Samuel Smith grabbed a 17-yard touchdown pass from Padrick and Greg Moss returned an interception 77-yards for a touchdown to even the score at 17-17 late in the first half.

With seconds remaining in the second quarter Babb hit Travis Smothers with a four-yard scoring strike to give UL-Lafayette a 24-17 lead going into the break.

Midway through the third frame Padrick found Harold Leath for a 10-yard scoring strike to even the score at 24-24.

Comiskey than nailed a 29-yard field goal late in the third quarter to put the Ragin Cajuns up 27-24.

FIU tied the score at 27-27 with a 41-yard field goal by Moss early in the final frame.

A five-yard touchdown run by London, his second of the game, put the Cajuns up 34-27.

The Golden Panthers evened the score at 34-34 with a one yard touchdown run by Rashod Smith.

With seconds remaining in the final quarter, Comiskey netted his third field goal of the game, this one from 41 yards out, giving UL-Lafayette a 37-34 lead.

Antwain Spann returned an interception 31 yards to give UL-Lafayette the 43-34 victory.

The Ragin Cajuns collected 26 first downs and controlled the ball for over 34 minutes in the victory.
