Texas And Texas A&M To Meet On Thanksgiving

Monday, February 25, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Big 12 Conference announced on Monday that the Texas-Texas A&M football game will be played on Thanksgiving night for the next two years.

When the two teams meet it will be the first time since 1993 that this rivalry game will take place on Thanksgiving.

"I am very excited about playing our Texas game on Thanksgiving night," Aggie head football coach Mike Sherman said. "This tradition-rich rivalry between two great universities deserves this type of exposure. I am hopeful we can keep this date for this game in years to come."

In a rivalry that dates back to 1894, 60 of the 114 meetings between Texas and Texas A&M have been on Thanksgiving.
