Las Cruces, NM -- (Sports Network) - Leon Jackson threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns as the Utah State Aggies outlasted the New Mexico State Aggies, 35-17, in a Western Athletic Conference bout from Aggie Memorial Stadium in Las Cruces. Jackson connected on 14-of-20 pass attempts, as Utah State (1-10, 1-6 WAC) snapped a 16-game losing streak that dated back to last season. Rob Myers was his go-to-guy, catching four passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. For NMSU (4-8, 1-6), Chase Holbrook completed 42-of-58 throws for 367 yards and a touchdown, but he was also picked off twice. A.J. Harris hauled in 12 passes for 68 yards, while Wes Neiman logged 10 catches for 106 yards and a touchdown in the setback. The Aggies have now dropped four games in a row. The only points of the first quarter were scored by NMSU's kicker Paul Young, who made a 30-yard field goal late in the frame. Early in the second quarter, Utah State took the lead behind a Curtis Marsh seven-yard touchdown run. A Justine Buries one-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter NMSU a 10-7 lead at the half. Jackson threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Myers in the third quarter and Utah State regained the lead, 14-10. Just five seconds into the final period, Myers caught a 24-yard touchdown pass from Jackson. NMSU responded moments later, as Holbrook threw a seven-yard touchdown pass to Neiman. Kevin Robinson, however, returned the ensuing kickoff 82 yards and Utah State led 28-17. With just 47 second left, Jimmy Bohm scored on a two-yard run and Utah State captured the 35-17 victory.
