WHAT:
Rockin' RibFest & Pro Rodeo is a major annual fundraising event for Dove House Children's Advocacy Center, serving sexually abused children throughout Iredell and Alexander counties in North Carolina. Our goal for this fundraiser is to provide a memorable and fun-filled family festival, while raising money for Dove House. Rockin’ RibFest & Pro Rodeo features national award winning ribbers serving up the most unbelievably delicious barbecue ribs, pulled pork, beef, and chicken. For the second year, we are partnering with Mid-Atlantic Professional Rodeo for a 3-day rodeo! In addition, all your favorite festival treats like corn dogs, funnel cakes, fried twinkies, bloomin' onions, roasted corn, hot pretzels, cotton candy and much, much more, will tempt your taste buds. On Friday night, join us for the Battle-Of-The-Bands where popular regional bands compete for cash prizes. Saturday's lineup features Lite 102.9's Jim Shafer & Liz Luke in The Band of Gold playing the oldies, Part-Time Blues Band, Avalanche - the 2006 Battle-Of-The-Bands winner, and featuring Mustang Sally as the country band headliner. Sunday's lineup features Gospel, R&B, and Funk by Freddy Morrison, the greatest hits of the 70s by John Ford Coley, and headlining Sunday, all the way from Mississippi is Sweetwater Jade. Other activities include a Pro Rodeo, Kid’s Zone, Commercial and Arts & Crafts Artisans, and Corporate Booths. The Family RV Center will showcase a broad selection of their campers for all to see what it can be like to travel in comfort and style.
