9 Food Drive - Who Is Helped?

All canned good and nonperishable food items donated to the 9 Food Drive benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina (SHFBM).

SHFBM serves over 14 counties in North Carolina including Anson, Burke, Cabarrus, Catawba, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Rowan, Rutherford, Stanly and Union; and 5 counties in South Carolina including Lancaster, York, Spartanburg, Union and Cherokee.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina partners with over 650 agencies in a 19-county area. These agencies include soup kitchens, emergency pantries, emergency shelters, low-income day cares, senior programs and group homes. With 18.1% of SHFBM's service area population living in poverty, the requests from emergency pantries remain high.

Some of SHFBM's partner agencies include Urban Ministries, Loaves and Fishes, Florence Crittendon, Uptown Men’s Shelter, Friendship Trays and many more.
