Charlotte youth group has a day of giving back

The Million Youth March Of Charlotte held their 4th Annual Day of Giving Back collecting toys and school supplies for local kids and providing haircuts and hair styling for Charlotte-Mecklenburg School students.

Mario Black, the event organizer said, "The Million Youth March of Charlotte provides a positive outlet for teens to give back and allows them to help others."

Shaun Corbett, owner of Da Lucky Spot Barbershop volunteered his time today to cut and style some of the students hair.  "Sometimes people forget how important it is to help in the community," Corbett said. "Giving back.  That's what this is all about."

The toys and school supplies will be donated to Hope Haven, Inc. and families who struggle during the holiday season.

Gabriel Covington, a Million Youth March member and a West Charlotte High School student said, "anywhere I see a need in the community, I'm here to help."
