MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. NATIONAL OBSERVANCE

What: A celebration of Mecklenburg's diversity featuring music, dance and poetry. Speakers examine Dr. King's moral theological and philosophical underpinnings. Approximately 600 people attended the event in 2017. The program includes recognition for the winners of the CMS Arts & Writing Contest.

When: Monday, January 15 at 11:00 a.m.

The City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, through their Community Relations Committee, have come together to expand our community's observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day through the Charlotte-Mecklenburg MLK National Holiday Celebration. Through honorable events held between January 13-15, the community will celebrate those who are committed to carrying Dr. King's legacy forward from generation to generation.​​
