HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- The town of Huntersville won't go forward with proposed plans to break away from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.Earlier this year, Huntersville leaders organized a committee to study forming an independent school system. The study came after complaints about overcrowding and discipline issues at the schools.Tuesday night, the town's school advisory committee voted against continuing the study.Instead, the committee wants to look at ways to work with CMS to do a better job of educating the area's children.
