Report: Tensions High At 'Sex' Premiere

Cattrall Didn't Want To Sit With Co-Stars Of Film, Daily Mail Says

Apparent tension between cast members of "Sex and the City: The Movie" led to one of the film's stars leaving the British premiere of the film early, according to London's Daily Mail.

The Daily Mail reported that Kim Cattrall refused to sit through the film with her female co-stars at London's Leicester Square last Monday -- opting instead to leave early to have dinner with her "Sex" co-star Mario Cantone.

According to the paper, the film's publicists tried to dispel rumors about a rift by saying Cattrall, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis watched the film together. But when pictures purportedly surfaced of Cattrall leaving the restaurant, a publicist backpedaled on the claim and explained the reason for Cattrall's early departure.

"The reason that Kim and Mario did not watch the film is that they promised their families that they would watch it for the first time together at the premiere in New York," said Ruth Dallatt, the Daily Mail reported.

The film, based on the hit HBO series, opens in theaters in the U.S. May 30.
