Apparently Mötley Crüe is hitting the road.

Update: The band announced that they are out of retirement in an explosive way, literally blowing up the "Cessation of Touring Agreement."

Original report: Mötley Crüe, Poison and Def Leppard could be packing stadiums around the country, Rolling Stone is reporting.

Despite sources telling the entertainment publication that it is happening, and fans begging for shows, the bands have not released tour dates. In the past, Mötley Crüe has said no more tours.

The last time Mötley Crüe toured was part of the band's 2014-2015 "Final Tour," which ended at the Forum in Los Angeles on Dec. 31, 2015, after 158 shows.

Band members claimed to have drawn up a "cessation of touring agreement" that would not allow them to appear again after the "Final Tour" ended, but management didn't produce the alleged document when asked by reporters with Rolling Stone.

Nikki Sixx told Rolling Stone at the time the band agreed to not tour, but said the band could override it if all four members agreed.

There had been rumors recently of Mötley Crüe getting back together, despite Sixx telling Rolling Stone in February that there was no plans.

Vince Neil earlier this month said the rumors of a tour were false after the debut of "The Dirt," the Netflix biopic on the band, according to Ultimate Classic Rock.

But days ago, in a now-deleted tweet, Mötley Crüe responded to fans' Change.org petition to have the band once again take the stage. The petition was shared on the band's Twitter account, saying it was "interesting," Ultimate Classic Rock reported.

The petition has more than 14,000 signatures on the way to meeting the 15,000 signature goal as of Monday morning.

Def Leppard's been touring, but the past year has focused on international dates, except for a Las Vegas residency, according to Rolling Stone. The band also was part of the 2019 class inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Def Leppard and Poison toured together in 2017.

Poison singer Bret Michaels said earlier this month he was "working real hard right now to put together something incredible with some other bands for next summer," UCR reported.
