charlotte power trio that excites with every note, tight in sound and loose in character. when talents combine, our individual styles blend into a supersonic soundscape that has the ability to make you move. we are three little dudes that bring one hell of a big sound! Signs of Iris
In the fall of 2009, three talented musicians searching for a creative outlet started a project that has now grown more than anyone imagined. Cassie Posey, future lead singer and synth player, and Johnny Puleo, now guitarist, began playing with a local friend and strong drummer, Jared Burger. The trio jammed a little, and noticed a distinct feel, but an eclectic sound. They couldn’t help but notice that even with their different styles and influences, a really unique pattern emerged—electronic energy, indie heart, and a sound firmly rooted in 90s rock and grunge. They settled on a name, and it was official. Slowly, it became apparent that Signs Of Iris was a whole different animal. Johnny’s classic rock influence and aggressive guitar skills built hype in the guitar community; Cassie’s quirky style and intense vocals shocked fans at first, but proved addictive; Jared’s personality drew in fans, and his drumming kept them around. The band soon realized that they were missing something—backbone. James Litzie, a fan of SOI from the beginning, showed interest in bass, and after buying his first, showed an immediate aptitude for the instrument. The excitement, edge, and humor put out by this group is infectious, and fans can’t get enough. Signs of Iris has been successful on the local level, picking up steam one fan at a time, and is now ready to rock faces off on a national level.
