The celebration aims to advance the public’s appreciation of visual and performing arts through an innovative, diverse and high-quality New Year’s Eve program that offers a shared cultural experience, accessible and affordable to all. First Night Charlotte takes place on New Year’s Eve from 12 p.m. to midnight with First Night Kids from 12 to 5 p.m. at kid-friendly venues and evening programming that runs from 8 to 11:30 p.m. at various venues with the countdown to midnight from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. at the main stage. With more than 75,000 attendees, First Night Charlotte has grown into one of the biggest and best known events in the Southeast to visit for New Year’s Eve.
