Serve lunch at Elizabeth's Caldwell House. On Sunday, January 20 2013, United Way Young Leaders is excited to help provide the ladies that remain on campus at Elizabeth’s Caldwell House with a Sunday lunch meal in order to help keep the Sabbath tradition in place.About the Organization: Elizabeth’s Caldwell House began as a satellite program of the Salvation Army’s Center of Hope in the Fall of 2010. At that time, overcrowding was leading to women and children sleeping on the floors at the Center of Hope. Through church and community efforts, Caldwell Presbyterian Church offered 6,000 square feet in its Price Building as shelter and dormitory space. Now, 50 women are able to sleep on-site at Elizabeth's Caldwell House each night and receive all of their social services and most of their meals at the Center of Hope. Every Sunday, the ladies can choose to remain on campus and observe a Sabbath, or day of rest. In order to make this possible, the Caldwell Presbyterian Church cooks a breakfast meal for the ladies and the Center of Hope provides a bag dinner.
