With special guest Dylan Le Blanc . Charlotte is proud to welcome Drive-By Truckers co-founder and Alabama native Patterson Hood for an introspective, solo concert that will let his alt-country vocals shine. Hood's third solo recording, Heat Lightning Rumbles in the Distance, came out in September, and the Muscle Shoals native has been touring non-stop since. Hood co-produced the album with longtime Drive-By Truckers collaborator David Barbe, who also plays bass on the album. All of his Drive-By Truckers band mates (Mike Cooley, Jay Gonzalez, Brad Morgan and John Neff) make appearances on the record, as do Kelly Hogan and Centro-matic's Scott Danbom and Will Johnson. Hood's father, famed Muscle Shoals bassist David Hood, also plays on the record. The younger Hood originally started out writing a book that was a fictionalization of a very turbulent period in his life when he was 27. The book eventually stopped coming, but the songs continued to pour out. Most of this album comes from a short period of time between February and June 2011. At a show in Boston earlier this fall, Hood said, "People ask why I decided to do a solo record this time instead of another Truckers album. I wanted something simpler and a chance to play smaller rooms, where it's more a conversation among friends than a big rock show. I've played big rock shows – 1,800 or 1,900 times – and there's plenty of time for me to do another thousand. But right now I wanted to do something different and just have a chance to sing to y'all." Ticket prices: $20
