FOOTLOOSE, presented by Northwest School of the Arts Come see North Carolina’s most talented teens in this production of the hit 1998 musical, based on the film of the same name. The music is by Tom Snow (among others), the lyrics by Dean Pitchford and Kenny Loggins, and the book by Pitchford and Walter Bobbie. The musical, which was nominated for four Tony awards, tells the story of Ren McCormack, a Chicago teen forced by circumstances to move to the small town of Bomont, where Ren’s favorite pastime dancing is against the law. His decides to take on city hall to change the law, which puts him at odds with the local minister, and in the arms of the minister’s rebellious daughter.
