A new film about society's perception of a woman with Down syndrome and her romantic relationship with a "normal" man, hits DVD."Mr. Blue Sky" tells the story of an unconventional love triangle between three childhood friends -- two girls, one born with Down syndrome -- and one boy, who all grow up fighting who they are inside, how they are perceived by society as a whole and the obstacles they face. The film stars Ashley Wolfe and "Home Improvement" co-star Richard Karn. The filmmakers said that the film explores the romantic relationship of the woman born with Down syndrome and a "normal" male, and attempts to break down society's barriers, much the same way "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner?" did in the 1960s with the romantic relationships with interracial couples.Written and produced by Tom Paddy Lee and directed by Sarah Gurfield, the object of the film is to "change lives" through "changing minds," according to the film's Web site. They want society to view all people as "individuals" first and foremost.More information on the film is available on the official "Mr. Blue Sky" Web site.A portion of the proceeds from the film will go back to the Down syndrome community, the film production said.
