Since bonuses are no longer counted on bowl reports, the priciest line item in Miami was team/staff meals and lodging. Alabama stayed at the historic and lavish Fontainebleau Hotel and spent $896,749 on the teams' meals and hotel over seven days. That was up from $701,847 in Pasadena and $649,724 in New Orleans over the same length of stay. Alabama's 84-person official party stayed one day longer in Miami than in Pasadena or New Orleans and totaled $234,290 in transportation, meals and lodging costs. That was $125,455 less than the similarly-numbered official party spent in Pasadena. Alabama sent 49 official party members to New Orleans in 2012.
DAYYYYYUM, 'Bama just doesn't win National Titles, it dominates in style, too. Not that I blame the Athletic Department, they have the money, but jeez, doesn't it seems a little wasteful? It's not like this will be the last National Championship game these players will ever see.. #Gumping
During the 2012-13 campaign, Kessens started all 33 games and averaged 13.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 blocks per contest, while shooting 54 percent from the floor and 70 percent from the foul line. He posted 25 double-figure scoring games, five 20-point games and 11 double-doubles, all of which led the Lancers. He finished the year by reaching double figures in 12 of his final 13 games.
At first I figured this was a D-II school (cause I had never heard of Longwood University) which would mean Kessens wouldn't have to sit a year but upon further review Longwood U is a D-1 school. So, even though the article says he has three years or eligibility left, he will have to sit a year. (If I'm wrong in this assumption, please let me know). The question moving forward for Grant is still, what about THIS year?
Alabama coach Nick Saban's $10.95 million investment property in Georgia will be placed on the auction block next month, according to a report today from the Atlanta Business Chronicle..
