It’s looking more and more as if Miami’s Shane Larkin will enter the draft. His dad said earlier that Shane understood market forces and that his perceived value may dictate his departure.
We’re not sure what he’s hearing and obviously he thinks he’s hearing good news. We can’t find a single mock draft which has him pegged higher than #30.
Larkin is a dazzling prospect, unbelievably quick and a superb leader. But any normal sized person can get hammered in the NBA. There aren’t many 19-year-old 5-11 guys who are ready, money or not.
Larkin has scheduled a news conference for Sunday at 6:00, but hardly anyone does that to announce they’re staying. He’s going to feel foolish if he ends up a second-round pick.
