A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel continued his amazing season with a record-setting performance against Louisiana Tech.
Manziel amassed 576 total yards _ the Aggies needed all of them in a 59-57 offensive showdown _ to win national player of the week honors from the Walter Camp Foundation. Manziel also garnered offensive player of the week honors from the Southeastern Conference after he became the first in the league history to have two 500-plus yard games in the same season.
Manziel was part of six touchdowns, as he passed for 395 yards and rushed for 181. He had a 72-yard dash on third-and-24 with roughly two minutes to play to give the Aggies the pivotal touchdown.
Manziel will encounter the best defense in his young career when Louisiana State comes to town this Saturday. Kickoff has been set for 11 a.m.
The Tigers, although down on offense, are their normal stout self on defense. LSU is second in the nation to Alabama in total defense, allowing 217 yards per game.
