By The Ghost of Jay Cutler
We alluded to it earlier this week, but our OMSPirit compadres have confirmed on Twitter that Ole Miss forward Murphy Holloway is working out for NFL scouts.
RT @spiritchuck: Murphy Holloway just worked out for NFL scouts in the IPF.— Ben Garrett (@SpiritBen) April 18, 2013
Presumably, Holloway is best suited to be a tight end or, in a longer shot, a defensive end. Since he's listed by Ole Miss as being 6'7" and 240 pounds, I presume he's coser to 6'6" and 225 pounds. That's not exactly ideal for either position in the NFL, but it is definitely a frame with which he could work. Holloway does use his body well, and has a good enough vertical leap to be of some value from a purely athletic standpoint, but as for his pro football prospects I am not so sure how his game on the hardwood translates to the gridiron.
I mean, I don't have a damn clue if he's ever played football.
Regardless, we at the Cup wish him tremendous success in his endeavors. He's a favorite of ours, so we hope that he makes his way into the NFL however that may take place.
