Reusing Laundry Water

We capture laundry water to water shrubs in our yard.

We fill the sink with water to wash dishes instead of letting the water run constantly.

We have rain barrels to capture the rainwater from the roof. Of course, it has to rain for this to work.

I save my rinse water from the washing machine by running an old swimming pool hose through the dryer vent to the outside.

The water is then collected in a large garden cart or hosed directly onto my perennial flower bed which is located outside the laundry room.

There are 20 to 30 gallons of 'grey' water after a wash load.

I've done this for three months, so I figure I've saved several hundred gallons.
