Savings When Doing Dishes And Laundry

Wash clothes once a week in larger loads and run the dishwasher full once or twice weekly.

My car is dirty, which drives me nuts, but you do what's necessary.

Sharon Self

We save water from washing vegetables for food preparation and use it on the rose garden.

When we run the dishwasher we catch the water, put it in a bucket outside to cool and then use it for watering flowers and shrubs. I learned this from my grandmother 50 years ago!

When we change the water in the kennels we use the old water in the pet bowls for watering flowers and herbs.

We change water in the bird bath and use the dirty water for watering potted plants.

Linda Greene

Wash all dishes by hand no dishwasher use.

Shorten shower time.

Wash clothes once a week and try to incorporate laundry into bigger loads, usually two loads a week.

We conserve in all ways we can. I measure all water out to cook as to have no waste.

Robin Swinson

When washing clothes, don't use the second rinse setting on the washing machine.

Cy Rowe

I do not run my dishwasher very often.

I have a front loading washing machine that uses less than half the amount of water, electricity and soap of a conventional washer.

I flush the toilet less often.

I water my plants on the porch with the used pet water.

I am doing less laundry.
