Top Ten 2008 Recruits From Charlotte Area

  1. Jheranie Boyd
    (Ashbrook - WR) 6'2" 184 lbs
    Boyd is a playmaker with great speed racking up over 1,100 yards and scored 11 times last season. Recruited by several schools, with Florida being highest on the list.

  2. Hawatha Bell
    (Butler - LB) 6'1" 230 lbs
    Bell had more than 100 tackles last season with South Carolina and Virginia Tech very high on his list.

  3. Larry Raper
    (Shelby - ATH) 5'10" 165 lbs
    Raper is a scoring machine and a great all-purpose back with 16 total touchdowns last season. Clemson is on the top of his list.

  4. Curtis Porter
    (Victory Christian - DT) 6'2" 334 lbs
    Porter transferred from West Charlotte and likes the state of Florida with the Gators, Seminoles and Hurricanes on the top of his list.

  5. Justin Foxx
    (Victory Christian - DE) 6'3" 211 lbs
    Foxx recorded 12 sacks last season and has UNC and N.C. State on his short list.

  6. Quan Rucker
    (West Iredell - WR) 6'0" 182 lbs
    Rucker has quick feet and can go over the middle. He caught 52 balls and scored five times last season and is looking hard at Wake Forest.

  7. Tucker Windle
    (Charlotte Catholic - TE) 6'3" 221 lbs Windle is a scoring threat on offense with seven TD catches last season but also a 54 tackles on defense. Windle has committed to Virginia but not yet signed.

  8. Josh Hunter
    (Mallard Creek - DB) 6'2" 172 lbs
    Hunter had five interception last season and is looking at several ACC schools - Clemson, Duke, Florida State, N.C. State, Miami and more.

  9. Vincent Davis
    (Sun Valley - WR) 6'1" 195 lbs
    Davis caught 60 balls and scored 12 times last season and has North Carolina on the top of his list.

  10. Ross Cockrell
    (Charlotte Latin - DB) 6'0" 170 lbs
    Cockrell is a force on offense also with 693 receiving yards last season and has Duke, Illinois, Michigan and Virginia on his list.
