Hopewell Fights Off Late 3-Point Barrage By Myers Park

CHARLOTE, N.C. -- Hopewell Boys Hold On To Defeat Myers ParkA barrage of three pointers late in the game was still not enough to propel Myers Park to victory Wednesday night against Hopewell.Hopewell held onto the win, 74-71, after giving up a 15-point lead with just over 7 minutes to play. Myers Park was helped by Ben Cherry who made 4-three pointers and finished with 17 points.The Titans (4-0) controlled most of the game by pressuring the Mustangs (2-1) all night. The Titans had four players in double figures and were led by Alex Godette's 24 points.The Mustangs cut the lead to one, 72-71, with 2.8 seconds left but Godette sealed the deal, making two free throws ending the game.The Titans' Branden Curry scored 13 points and DeMon Brooks chipped in with 12.
