Kick off Memorial Day weekend at NC Wine Fest

Kick off your Memorial Day weekend at one of the largest and longest-running wine festivals in the Tar Heel State -- the 19th annual North Carolina Wine Festival at Tanglewood Park.

The Triad's signature spring event happens Saturday from noon to 6 p.m., and includes a full day of tasting and live music, along with local food and craft vendors specializing in everything from candy to clocks to pottery.

Taste wines from your favorite North Carolina wineries and vineyards including Childress, Dennis, Duplin, Hinnant Family, Native Vines, Rocky River, Shadow Springs, Stony Mountain, Weathervane and many more. Bottles will also be available for purchase.

The music lineup includes favorites Chairmen of the Board (featuring Ken Knox) and The Finns.

Admission cost is $40 and includes sample tastings, a commemorative wine glass and parking.

The event happens rain or shine. Tanglewood Park is located at 4061 Clemmons Road in Clemmons.
