Yankees' Farnsworth Suspension Reduced

POSTED: 6:38 pm EDT May 9, 2008

(Sports Network) - New York Yankees reliever Kyle Farnsworth had his suspension reduced from three games to one by Major League Baseball, following an appeal.

Farnsworth was originally suspended three games and fined an undisclosed amount for throwing behind the head of Boston's Manny Ramirez last month.

Ramirez dropped his bat and looked at Farnsworth, but never made a move toward the mound. Farnsworth wasn't ejected, though plate umpire Larry Vanover immediately issued warnings to both benches.

Farnsworth will serve his suspension Friday night in Detroit.
