CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A Charlotte woman complained the postal service caused her to spend an extra $500 for trip to Disney World. She said a wrongly delivered package resulted in her amusement park tickets being stolen.Jenny Billings had to spend nearly $500 on eBay a second time for Disney tickets. That's because she never received the first ones."My address just said Lilly Lane," she said. The shipper misaddressed the package. After several days the mail carrier delivered it to Billings opened and taped back up.'The tickets were ripped off,” she said. The package was insured by the postal service. But when Billings filed a claim, it was denied twice."The second appeal they said, ‘We will never reimburse for items that are mis-addressed,’” she said.Billings felt the post office was liable. She'd received tracking emails saying it had the package but that it was undeliverable.'They kept saying, ‘We don't have it, it was returned to the sender, it’s not our problem, you know quit calling us,’” she said.Action 9 contacted the postal service. It reviewed Billings's claim and said, "Things were not handled properly.”It apologized to Billings and then sent her a $491 check.
