Cabernet Franc

The Cabernet Franc is one of the genetic parents of the more popular Cabernet Sauvignon grape.

The Cabernet Franc is a red grape and is most often used for blending with other wines, although it is also made into wine by itself.

Wines are often bright, pale red with a medium tannic content.

Flavor: Wine is slightly tart with a long finish.

Aroma: Depending on where the grapes are grown, when they are planted and how long the wine is aged, Cabernet Franc can carry the aromas of; pepper, tobacco, cassis, violets, and plums.
