Uptown Charlotte Light Rail May Open Early

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Part of Charlotte’s light rail project is ahead of schedule.The Charlotte Area Transportation System had planned to open the line around Thanksgiving, but the uptown side is moving along faster than anticipated.CATS officials are trying to figure out if it makes sense to open that section even if the Pineville side isn’t ready.City leaders plan to make a decision within the next three months.
