Man Won't Face Trial For Statesville Slaying

STATESVILLE, N.C. -- A man charged with murder in the shooting death of a Statesville teen will not go to trial on the charge.The Statesville Record and Landmark reports Kevin Turner told police he shot and killed 17-year-old Shannon Lackey in self defense at a party in January.
