CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan is on her way to Washington, D.C., but she stopped in Charlotte on Tuesday afternoon. She started with a visit to Rep. Mel Watt's office in west Charlotte. The Democrat is in D.C, but she wants him to pass measures to impeach President George Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.A rally was also held in Bryant Park on West Morehead Street where President Bush supporters showed up too.Eyewitness News talked to Sheehan about Charlotte's turnout, and also talked to those who are against her.“Small children, their parents and grandparents -- we all realize it's so urgent for our country and the world to keep George Bush accountable and bring our troops home,” Sheehan said.“I just want the troops to know that we support them. They're not going to be treated like we were treated when we got back from Vietnam. We just want everyone to know that,” said Sheehan critic Jim Brannon.Sheehan's trip began in Crawford, Texas, and will end in Central Park in New York City. Some of her critics will follow her along the way.
