Banner Showing Bruton Smith Love Goes Up Over Concord

CONCORD, N.C. -- The Cabarras County Convention and Visitors Bureau is going above and beyond to get Bruton Smith to keep Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord.On Thursday the group took to the air to ask Smith to stay. They sent up a plane flying a banner that reads, “We (heart) you Bruton. Stay in Concord. SaveLMS.com”Smith, the CEO of LMS, is threatening to pack up and leave Concord after the city voted to stop Smith's work on a drag strip near the track. The city council is expected to reverse the decision next week.DeSales Wagster with the Convention and Visitors Bureau said the group wants to send a message to Smith about what the speedway means to the community.The group also flew the banner over Interstate 85 during the evening commute.
