CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Drivers are going to have to wait even longer for crews to finish Interstate 485.State road officials pushed the completion date back two years, from 2016 to 2018. They said they're working on nine loops in the state right now and they don't have money for all of them. Some drivers are getting used to the disappointment. Matt Teeter said, "I remember when it wasn't here. It was going to be ready. Then it wasn't going to be ready. So, it seems like there's a setback every time."Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory sent Governor Mike Easley a letter saying the state needs to put Charlotte's needs ahead of other areas. He accused state road officials of playing favorites. He told Eyewitness News, "Our call to the governor is to make road decisions based upon where the cars and traffic and congestion are, not based upon politics."MAP: Previous I-485 Completion Dates
