New Details Released In Officer-Involved Shooting In East Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police have released a few more details in a deadly shooting involving a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer.Authorities now say Officer Jeffrey Wheaton fired the shots that killed a 16-year-old in east Charlotte over the weekend.The shooting happened near the Casa De Lago apartment complex on Albemarle Road where officers were investigating a possible robbery. The officers say they chased Laquan Brown because he was running from the scene.
