Attorney Represents Family Of Teen Shot By Police With Taser Gun

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Eyewitness News has learned that the family of a 17-year-old shot by police with a Taser gun has a hired a high-profile attorney.Darryl Turner died shortly after he was hit. It happened Thursday at the Food Lion on Prosperity Church Road where Turner worked.Police were called to the scene during a heated argument between Turner and his boss.CMPD has launched an internal investigation into what happened, and now the family is conducting its own investigation."There is a certain protocol that is required when a police officer uses a taser. And in a case like this, obviously, we're going to be interested in seeing if that protocol was followed," said attorney Ken Harris.Harris said it’s too early to say whether a lawsuit will be filed against the police department.
