CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Security cameras are coming soon to uptown's Fourth Ward neighborhood. Channel 9 Eyewitness News has learned that one camera will go in Fourth Ward Park. The other one will go at the corner of 10th Street and Graham Street. The cameras will feed back to CMPD headquarters, and will allow police to monitor criminal activity. Neighbors are welcoming the cameras."When people know they're being watched or monitored, i think they're behavior changes," said neighbor Ben Wilson."It would make me feel better. We have cops that walk through, and bike through, but they can't be there 24/7," said neighbor Jennifer Paules. The money for the cameras is coming from federal grants and a donation from the neighborhood association. They should be up in summer.
