Suspect Arrested In Murder Of 92-Year-Old Charlotte Woman

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police in Charlotte arrested a man in the murder of a 92-year-old grandmother.Mildred Clontz was returning from church Sunday night when police said a man followed her into her home, stabbed her, then stole her purse.Police did not say much about the man they arrested Thursday, and asked Eyewitness News not to release his name because they believe he might be linked to other crimes. Investigators said he got out of jail a year ago."We can tell you the suspect is a career criminal and his history includes serving 20 years in prison for armed robbery," said Maj. Herald Medlocke.Police said they will release the man's picture and identity once they figure out if he was responsible for other robberies.
