Judge Denied Slain CMC-Pineville Nurse’s Aid’s Restraining Order Against Suspect Last Spring

PINEVILLE, N.C. -- The nurse's family members' say they told police the man charged with her death had threatened her several times.Jesus Rangel is charged with the murder of 23-year-old Victoria Sanchez.Sanchez was found dead in her car Wednesday night in the parking lot of CMC in Pineville.Investigators say Rangel and Sanchez knew each other and detectives say their families had been arguing over childcare issues for at least a year.Neighbor Gary Dunlap said, “I've seen the guy a few times but never really paid him any attention. He looked a little weird but I never expected anything like that around here.”According to police, Sanchez filed a restraining order against Rangel and his wife, last spring after her car was vandalized three times.In that report, Sanchez told officers after the last incident, Rangel showed up at her home and threatened to hurt her.When the judge in the case denied the restraining order, neighbors say Sanchez moved.Eyewitness News will have more on this story as it becomes available.
