A North Carolina state trooper was hurt in a car crash while responding to a call to help another trooper Friday night.

North Carolina Highway Patrol said Trooper Daniel Vaughan crashed his car on a curve on Lawyers Road near Baines School Road in Mint Hill at about 10:35 p.m.

Vaughan and another trooper were trying to find a speeding motorcyclist on Interstate 485 at the time. Highway Patrol said Trooper Vaughan was talking and walking around after the crash, but went to a hospital.

Troopers did not find the motorcyclist they were looking for on I-485.
