Fast-Moving Storm In Lincoln County Forces People To Take Cover

POSTED: 10:59 pm EDT May 11, 2008
UPDATED: 11:56 pm EDT May 11, 2008

Sunday afternoon's fast-moving storms had hundreds of people in Lincoln County running for cover.

A funnel cloud was spotted in the late afternoon; some say it was moving right along Highway 73.

Several people stopped to get video or pictures, and thankfully, no there were no reports of serious damage.

The large hail that accompanied the storm caused the most damage; denting cars and rooftops.

Jerry Wyant, a farmer says much of his crop was ruined by the tennis ball sized hail.

"I probably lost 70% of my barley. I also had a good chance to make a good wheat crop this year. The price is up, but if

you don't have any crop to harvest, you're doomed," said Wyant.
