More Charges Possible For Man Accused Of Murder

LENOIR, N.C. -- A Lenoir man could now be charged with a second count of murder after his wife died over the weekend from being shot.Just after 2:30 a.m. Friday, police said, Barney Dunlap confessed to an officer that he had just killed his wife, Roslyn Dunlap and her boyfriend, Gerald Lakey. Police said the Dunlaps had recently separated.Investigators later found both Roslyn Dunlap and Lakey shot on Queen Street. Lakey died at the scene. Investigators said evidence indicates that both were shot with a 12 gauge shotgun.Saturday, Dunlap died at N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.Barney Dunlap was originally charged with murder for the death of Lakey, and with attempted murder for shooting his wife. Now, he could face more charges since the death of his wife.
