CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police said watchful neighbors helped officers find three suspected burglars in broad daylight. Residents on Sulkirk Drive called 911 on Friday afternoon, when they spotted three men they said looked suspicious. Officers say the three men later broke into a house, and when the homeowner returned, they all ran. The three suspects are all teenagers. Within an hour, all three were caught, thanks to several neighbors who pointed police in the right direction.A day after the neighborhood was swarmed with police officers; these neighbors have a newfound sense of empowerment. Many said they feel safer knowing their neighbors are looking out for them. The Beverly Woods Neighborhood Association will meet on Sunday night, and people there said they have a new reason to attend. "I just want to get to know more people in my neighborhood, and have them to get to know me. I think the more we know each other, there's going to be a lot more loyalty," said Brianna Pierce, who lives in the neighborhood.
